I.T jobs are not just the in-demand jobs today, occupational therapy jobs are also on the steady rise for several years now.
In 2004 alone in the United States, there are ninety two thousand therapy jobs that have been filled in. Most occupational therapists worked in hospitals, schools or nursing facilities and most of occupational therapists have more than one job because their work is in demand right now. It is even expected that occupational therapy jobs will continue to be on the rise until 2014.
The main requirement to be an occupational therapist in the United States is to finish a course from accredited school program and pass the national certification exam to obtain a license.
To make sure that quality service is given, a master's degree now is required in order to work as occupational therapist.
The main job of an occupational therapist is to help people who have disabling conditions physically, mentally, emotionally or developmentally to cope, develop and recover from their limiting conditions. An occupational therapist should also be ready to assist their patients in performing activities which may require coordination and perceptual skills.
At present, an occupational therapist employed in a home care services in the U.S can expect a salary of more than fifty eight thousand dollars annually while an occupational therapist who works in schools can earn more than forty eight thousand dollars per year.
