Occupational Therapy - Part II

Occupational therapy is a method of therapy which focus on improving the physical, mental, emotional and physical conditions of individual and it helps them to recover and return on their daily and working lives.

Occupational therapy is used to assist patients in performing all types of activities, help patients increase their strength as well their dexterity, improve visual acuity as well as the coordination of the body with problem solving skills and memory use.

As of the present, occupational therapy is part of the healing plan for chronic arthritis patients.

Before the occupational therapy session, the occupational therapist will ask the following information to the patient:

  • lifestyle
  • personal hygiene
  • eating
  • drinking
  • cleaning
  • driving
  • sex life
  • cooking
  • shopping
  • working

Along with the questions, a physical examination will also be asked by the therapist in order to know hinder deformities that might be affecting the health of the patient.
